[ He nods once as he takes a smaller sip than last time, tapping a finger against his chin in thought once the glass is set back down for the moment. ]
Considering the Seelie and Unseelie have been locked in a stalemate for ... well, as long as I can remember, I'll admit, and still beyond that - I can certainly believe that demon interference wouldn't help matters at all.
We've been quite occupied, you could say! Oh, there have been the odd demon skirmish that pops up here and there. Some devilish workers, given title and purpose. Nothing to ignore or make light of, but nothing so severe as what you've been snared in.
Of course, I would assume that those who would try to interrupt were either brought about by someone else or were trying to get some sort of foothold of their own. I wouldn't have been surprised if that included some from my Cardinal, as well.
Right now, though, I can only plan and strategize to make sure to protect my legacy and to also stop my son from making any more mistakes.
Not everyone is privy to that knowledge, I'd imagine.
[ Jae nods, running a hand through his hair before taking another sip of wine. ]
Of course. I apologize if there may be some instances where I return at odd hours, in that case. I would be talking with my protege or a friend, and the both of them are more nocturnal.
[it is wiser not to comment on that comment. Easal just lifts an eyebrow and lets out a huffy laugh, because that's rich]
You aren't so likely to bother me as you might think! Oh, I wake easily enough, that's true. But I have learned to sleep when I can. Short of you and your friend and protege taking the time to rendezvous on my sleeping form, I should manage quite well.
[ Thus why witchkids are going to be a nice change of pace of children that aren't trying to kill him or come as a product of a hatefuck with a mortal enemy. ]
Among other things. At the very least we can hope that things are resolved soon on all ends, not just with the situation I mentioned earlier, but also with us being placed on this forced vacation away from Seoul.
[ Yes, well. Amaki seems fine so far? It's just the less-than-pleasant circumstances that are leading up to her conception, apparently. And the fact that Amaterasu seems to think that Jae would be interested in a round two (or even a round one) in the first place. ]
Normally I wouldn't look a proverbial gift horse in the mouth, but with everything else, I'm sure you understand. I unfortunately may not have been the best roommate as a result of it, either.
[at least she isn't trying to murder everyone in sight, progress!]
What a subjective concept, "best roommate". You have done just fine. I have slept in barracks with a dozen snoring men who seemed as though they were trying to collectively raise the dead with the racket they caused. I have been woken up in the dead of night by screams of terrified girls and men with knives, so I really cannot complain here, you understand. I have been quite safe and well rested.
I may have. It's not an idea or path that I may enjoy, but it might be for the betterment of everyone else, at the very least.
[ There are a few ideas swirling around in his head, but there seems to be only a few outcomes to those ideas. ]
At least, in the sense that it will likely destroy what little relationship with my son that I even have in the first place. Even if it will save his life.

[ That's Jae-being-cordial speech for "please drop it". ]
Understandable, considering your kind aren't fond of the kind of chaos that most demons like to bring about.

[hint received]
We are not well known for it, no. And I do believe we make enough chaos on our own.

I must say that that sounds a bit more important, at present. Perhaps always. I

We wouldn't dare. None of us are the type.

Which I appreciate. Footprints never wash well from pajamas.

That does make things more complicated, yes. I shall of course hope for the very best!

Mm, in that case, this was a vacation for you.
[ Jae grins while he takes another sip of wine. ]

You see? I'm very well adjusted!

It's only fair for me to ask. But I'm glad that it hasn't been a problem.
